In my last post I detailed my skincare and makeup routine. In this new year there are a few areas I would like to improve. If you have any recommendations please let me know.
My skin is fairly sensitive. I suffer from some breakouts but mainly just scarring after managing to improve my skin over the past year. I have dry patches and a few oily areas but on the whole it is quite normal. I am beginning to see some signs of ageing, light lines on my forehead, round my eyes, mouth and between my brows. I think I am doing quite well for 27 but I would like to use some more targeted products. Ideally I don’t like using harsh chemicals on my face and cutting down on them last year made my skin much healthier.
As detailed in my last post I’ve stopped using water on my face in the morning. Currently I just use the Liz Earle toner. It’s nearly run out so I’ll probably try something else. My current options are Caudalie Grape Water, Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser, Mario Badescu Glycolic Acid and Aloe Vera Toners.Foundation
I tried a lot of foundations last year but my favourite was still the Bourjois Healthy Mix. I found the serum version to have very little coverage. I bought the Too Faced ‘Born This Way’ foundation but it didn’t blend well with my concealer. My new options are Yves Saint Laurent All Hours, Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk and bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel.Eye Cream
I spent a lot of time last year trying to find a decent eye cream. I would like one that helps with ageing but I have heard different arguments for and against using it. I personally think there can’t be much harm in applying it, even if it can’t reverse time at least it will keep the area hydrated. I want to try Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream, Dr Dennis Gross Skincare’s Ferulic + Retinol, Charlotte Tilbury Magic Eye Rescue and the Eve Lom Eye Cream.
